Interview with Dr. Florian Dillinger, CCEO, Matador Secondary Private Equity AG
In times of higher interest rates and high uncertainty on the stock markets, traditional portfolios of shares and bonds no longer work as well as in the past. Alternative strategies are therefore increasingly in demand. We spoke to Dr. Florian Dillinger, CEO of Matador Secondary Private Equity AG, about the appeal of secondaries.

Dr. Dillinger, how has your business developed over the past few months?
Dr. Florian Dillinger:
The first half of 2022 was extremely successful for Matador Secondary Private Equity AG. The secondary funds in which we are invested achieved a very high increase in value of CHF 8.9 million in total, which corresponds to growth of 105% compared to the previous year.
Successful exits, including in the form of several IPOs, and an overall pleasing performance, particularly of the US investments, were the main drivers. Of the 23 portfolio positions, 17 achieved an – in some cases very substantial – increase in value. …
